Overseas Adventure Travel
Overseas Adventure Travel was founded in 1978 by former schoolteacher Judi Wineland, who was inspired to enter the industry after a trip to Africa. The company’s first endeavor centered on Tanzania, and Overseas Adventure Travel became the first United States—based agency to provide tented safaris there. Today, the company organizes small-group tours in Turkey, Nepal, Greece, and even Antarctica. Part of the Grand Circle Corporation, Overseas Adventure Travel was also the first American company to coordinate trips designed specifically for customers over the age of 50. Each tour is led by a local guide who is fluent in English.
