Salts, located in Cambridge along the edge of the MIT campus, offers French-inspired American cuisine under the supervision of co-owners Gabriel Bremer and Analia Verolo, who proudly note on their menu that much of the produce comes from their own farm in New Hampshire. The small, brightly lit dining room is decorated in an unassuming manner, with hardwood floors, framed mirrors, and simple but appealing flower arrangements. This focuses attention on the food, and particularly the roasted duck for two, which is the most popular item on the menu. Other standouts include the French onion soup with pork and gruyere and the beef ribeye with sunchokes and bone marrow custard.
With a limited number of ducks in the kitchen on any given day, it’s best to call ahead to reserve your roasted duck for two.
