Institute of Contemporary Art
Boston, MA, 02210, United States
The first museum built in Boston in more than a century, the Institute of Contemporary Art opened in Fort Point in 2006. The museum houses a performing arts theater, education and workshop facilities, and a generous amount of gallery space. The ICA showcases 20th- and 21st-century art in various mediums, including sculpture, film, music, and dance. The gallery space on the top floor is cantilevered over the Boston Harbor, creating a silhouette that highlights the building’s dramatic lines and sharp right angles.
