Burlington's only downtown grocery store, City Market is a community-owned food cooperative selling a wide range of local and organic goods, as well as a smaller selection of name-brand products. Sourced from more than 1,000 regional vendors, the inventory includes fresh produce, local beer and wine, organic chocolate bars, artisan cheeses, and freshly baked bread such as rosemary olive oil focaccia. The co-op also contains a deli, which sells made-to-order sandwiches like the popular chicken pesto, and a café that serves daily specials such as vegan chili, butternut squash risotto, and North African cauliflower soup.
