On the banks of Great Averill Pond in Vermont’s rural Northeast Kingdom, Quimby Country manages 20 rustic, wood cabins for rent, complete with wood stoves and porches overlooking Forest Lake. Extremely welcoming to families, the resort has plenty of opportunity for hiking and biking on the heavily wooded, 1,000-acre property, as well as water sports on the several bodies of water. Big and small game hunting is also available during designated seasons, with a particular attention to moose, deer, grouse, and woodcock. In summer, the resort provides two meals per day and activity organizers for children.
