This Coney Island fruit shop carries the gamut of fruit-based creations, from platters and baskets to chocolate-dipped fruits. Daniel Spitz started the shop in 1957, and his son Mitchell now runs the place (although Daniel continues to keep a close eye on operations). Fruit designers work to shape the aesthetic appeal of the colorful arrangements, which have graced the tables for United States presidential inauguration celebrations. Fresh produce is flown in from across the globe daily, such as pineapples from Hawaii and Haitian mangoes, and next-day Manhattan delivery can be arranged.
