Located northwest of Bordeaux proper, the Château Giscours winery is set on a hilltop in the commune of Labarde. The domaine started producing Margaux appellation wines in the 1500’s and today grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. Surrounded by nearly 200 acres of planted vineyards, the château is a 19th-century Neoclassical palace with a mansard roof and three guest rooms for overnight stays. The wine production facility, which is called Suzanne’s Farm, is a more rustic building used frequently as an event center for special occasions.
