Located in the Beverly Hills Hotel, this bar and restaurant remains a destination for entertainment-industry folks and tourists decades after its founding. The interior is tropical plush, down to the banana leaf wallpaper, fresh flower arrangements, live piano music, and deep booths. Weekday lunch on the outdoor garden patio is popular, as is Sunday brunch. Entree salads, such as the McCarthy, made with chicken, iceberg, eggs, beets, and cheddar cheese, are the focus of the lunch menu, while dinner entrees are split among seafood (diver scallops and yellowfin tuna), beef (a kobe burger, dry aged New York steak), and pasta dishes.
