Matsuhisa
Beverly Hills, CA, 90211, United States
Locaated on La Cienega Boulevard’s Restaurant Row, this fusion concept was groundbreaking for Japanese-Peruvian cooking when Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa opened it in 1987. The space contains a sushi bar and simple wooden tables. Matsuhisa inspired Robert De Niro and Richie Notar to invest in expansion, resulting in almost 30 Nobu locations worldwide. He also popularized dishes like miso-marinated black cod, and yellowtail sashimi spiked with jalapeño. Matsuhisa has an extensive roster of sushi, rolls, salads, and tempura. There are also different tiers of omakase, eat-till-you-say-stop extravaganzas that change daily. To drink, the restaurant carries exclusive sakes and crafts sake-based cocktails like the Express 50, with YK50 sake and yuzu.
Insider Tip:
For an after-dinner stroll, La Cienega Park is about a 12-minute walk south from the restaurant.
