Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute
On a mission to educate the public about the ocean and marine wildlife, the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute sits in the Inner Harbour of the Pembroke Parish district. Open 364 days a year, BUEI presents hands-on exhibits like underwater Bermuda, where visitors can try on scuba gear and learn about Bermuda’s best snorkeling and diving areas, and the science at sea exhibit, an interactive classroom that explains new scientific and environmental oceanic research. BUEI also hosts events like weekend film series, and Christmas by the Harbour.
Insider Tip:
May through November, Bermuda glow worms create bioluminescent displays at the ocean’s surface after sunset. To witness this phenomenon, take a BUEI Glow Worm Cruise.
