Berlin
Borchardt
One of the city's most highly-regarded restaurants, Borchardt was originally founded by A.F.W. Borchardt in 1853. Today, the restaurant is a go-to dining destination for visiting luminaries, and it has served the likes of Barack Obama and Mick Jagger. The atmosphere is befitting the high class clientele: the dining room is decorated in shades of mauve and has tall marble columns. Executive chef Markus Herbicht crafts tempting French and German fare, including duck terrine, oysters, and wiener schnitzels. A more affordable prix fixe menu is available for lunch, and the wine list has ample options for pairings.
Insider Tip:
After dining, walk to the Gendarmenmarkt to view the famous French and German Cathedrals.
