Belltown
The Edgewater
Seattle, WA, 98121, United States
TEL: (800) 624-0670
With its self-consciously hearty, rustic interiors—all log and pine furniture, checks and tartans, river stones and slate—the Edgewater takes the Pacific Northwest-lodge motif to the nth degree. But if you ignore the more twee elements (like the hairy, bear-shaped ottomans) and focus on the cozy gas fireplaces and spectacular Elliott Bay views, you’ll understand why the inn’s 223 rooms are booked far in advance. The wonderful, cavernous lobby, with pillars wrapped in bark to resemble reconstructed trees, is a great place to have drinks after a day of sightseeing or shopping, and the elegant, on-site Six Seven restaurant serves locally caught seafood.
Room to Book:
The Beatles Suite (the band actually stayed there in 1964) has Fab Four photos and memorabilia—but it also has the coolest décor, including a wide leather couch and Union Jack throw pillows.
Insider Tip:
Requesting a water view may land you with only a partial vista over city buildings. Be sure to ask for a view of the Olympic Mountains.
