The hand-cranked drawbridge across Haul Over Creek, known as Swing Bridge, is the unofficial center of town. On the southern side of the bridge, you'll find Belize City's bustling commercial strip; merchants sell peeled mangos spiked with chile and salt, and vendors hawk bottles of home-brewed bitters, curative herb-steeped spirits.
