Located in the Ohla Hotel, near Avinguda Diagonal, the Michelin-starred Saüc (named after the elderberry plant) offers a short menu alongside three tasting menus. The kitchen is helmed by Xavier Franco, who uses the freshest ingredients to create traditional Catalan cuisine with inventive twists, such as pork dewlap and scallops with cod tripe and black sausage. Décor is avant-garde in nature, with lots of light and airy space, accented with cool gray and white hues. Low-slung seating and banquettes along the windows allow for prime-people watching.
Be sure to call ahead for reservations. The restaurant is closed Sundays, Mondays, and for a three-week stretch during the summer.
