Chote Chitr
The unassuming Chote Chitr, located near Wat Suthat, is a century-old, family-run establishment popular with locals for its authentic, flavorful takes on traditional Thai cuisine. Owner Tim Krachoichuli has created a decidedly casual eatery, where the menu is scrawled on the building’s walls. Diners can choose from a selection of more than 400 dishes, and house specialties include the banana flower salad, a mix of chicken, shrimp, and banana tree flowers cooked in coconut milk, and the prik king, a dish of dried pork and green beans seasoned with red curry.
Insider Tip:
The restaurant is extremely small and only holds five tables. If you arrive at the height of the lunch or dinner rush, be prepared to wait.
