Balmoral
The Bathers' Pavilion
Sydney, New South Wales, 2047, Australia
Occupying a 1930’s beach-club changing area on breathtaking Balmoral Beach (about a half-hour ferry ride north from Sydney Harbour), Bather’s incorporates both a refined dining room and a more casual café. The former offers degustation menus that combine local, Euro, and Asian flavors (the Tasmanian arctic char with ginger-and-pork crêpes is a standout dish; so is the goat-cheese agnolotti). The café, however, is the place to go for weekend breakfast; crowds of locals show up to tuck into Gruyère cheese soufflés with corned beef hash and eggs baked en croûte with pancetta and asparagus.
Insider Tip:
Tip: If you’re planning a day at the beach, hit Bathers’ on-site kiosk to stock up on sandwiches, salads, and pastries.
