Waterford Castle

Waterford Castle

Map
The Island, Waterford, , Ireland

You’ll find more than 800 years of history and decoration at Waterford Castle, as evidenced by the Jacobian-style antiques and original tapestries that dress its great halls and foyers. Country-house style and elegant décor are throughout the castle’s five suites and 14 deluxe guest rooms. Wood paneling, stone walls, and fine antique furniture lend the castle some added regal charm, and that style continues in the three- to four-bedroom private luxury lodges. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the 200 acres of bosky golf course (Ireland’s only island course). There are also a range of activities and interests to occupy your time on the island—from tennis courts to nature trails to archery and Michelin-class meals. An important note: It’s accessible only by boat.
