Family-owned since 1988, the restaurant has a homey vibe, with simple wooden furniture, a fireplace, and white walls hung with antique quilts and antique farm implements. The menu includes classics like the open-faced meatloaf sandwich; the secret-recipe chicken pot pie; and the signature fried chicken, which Food & Wine named some of the best in the nation. Almost everything is homemade, from the ranch dressing to the freshly baked dinner rolls and the ever-popular peach cobbler.
