Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST)
Sky Restaurant
International Terminal, Departures, after Passport Control and upstairs from the Food Court
Istanbul, Turkey
Concealed amid the business-class lounges, this spacious, sunlit restaurant looks as if it would be forbidden to steerage passengers, but it’s not. Off the main foot-traffic path, it is the quietest and most relaxing place to eat in the airport, with an excellent international menu, including a good seared-tuna appetizer with cracked pepper and one of the least greasy, most upscale versions of the kebab (beef or chicken) in Turkey. The wine list has an intriguing selection of Turkish vintages. Dinner with an entrée, main course, and dessert costs about $35. Don’t Miss: Cold melon and basil soup—alone worth the detour.
