Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST)

Prayer Rooms

Ataturk Airport
International Departures Terminal, next to the Istanbul Café
Istanbul, Turkey

For a peaceful place to get right with God—or to get away from the PA system—prayer rooms, called masjids, are available throughout the airport (5 a.m.–11 p.m.). Men and women pray separately (and in modest clothing—no shorts or bare arms). It’s fine to sit here quietly and meditate, but don’t read, listen to music, or use your PDA. Be particularly discreet and respectful during the call to prayer (five times daily).

Additional Location in Ataturk Airport:

International Departures Terminal, after Passport Control and next to the Food Court
