The Sky Hotel is located at the bottom of the Silver Queen Gondola, which ascends to the summit of Aspen Mountain. Renovated by Kimpton Hotels in 2002, the Sky mixes bright colors and animal prints in its 90 guest rooms and suites. The lobby is a popular gathering place, with log-beam ceilings, high-back upholstered chairs, and an assortment of board games. Dining is available at the 39 Degrees Lounge, where flash-fried bass, roasted mushroom sliders, and Aspen Slushes made with Colorado whisky are served in front of the wood-burning fireplace.

The property has more than one building, so some rooms open to the outdoors, motel-style. Specify a room in the main hotel if your preference is indoor room access.
