Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville

Though the last hinge was hung in 2009, this Tudor-style boutique hotel abutting George Vanderbilt’s 1895 Biltmore Estate resembles a 1920s hunting lodge—though one decorated by an eccentric art lover. Mounted deer heads, carved teak columns, wild boar sculptures, and original artwork and curios fill every nook and cranny. The on-site gallery displays contemporary paintings, art glass, sculpture, and more. Antler light fixtures illuminate the tufted velvet headboards and landscape prints by North Carolinian native artist Mitch Kolbe in the 104 modern-rustic rooms.
