Grafton Street Area
Shebeen Chic
The latest addition to the George’s Street scene takes a humorous angle on the current economic recession. The owners have outfitted the bar-restaurant like a tenement, with recycled furniture, a hodgepodge of tag-sale objets, and lines of hanging laundry. There’s even a battered sofa and lampshade, straight from a student flat, outside on the street. Try a massive plate of hearty (and cheap!) Irish stew, or enjoy some “boxty”—a traditional Irish potato bread with leek and black pudding or ham and cheese.
