Café en Seine

It’s brash and showy, but this archetypal Dawson Street bar is still well worth a visit. One of the city’s first “superpubs” (in which lavish, over-the-top interiors and sceney people-watching played as big a role as the drinks), the cavernous space with its soaring atrium and glitzy Art Deco sculptures still impresses. Three separate bars fuel the vast spread of floor acreage, which gets thronged on weekends (don’t arrange to meet friends here on Saturday night—you may never find them).
