Less ornate than Pompadour's flagship tearoom at 12 Huidenstraat, this second, brick-front location sells elegant baked goods and pastries along with chocolate and light lunches. Chocolates are handmade, and the front display case holds rich cakes, fruit tarts, and cookies, such as chocolate-dipped shortbread and macaroons. Not to be overlooked is a small lunch menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches like the kobe beef BLT. Past the display cases at the front of the clean, bright place, there is a cluster of tables to sit and enjoy coffee or tea, along with lunch or a pastry.
Indulge in a uniquely Dutch treat found here—bread smeared with real Dutch butter and topped with hagelslag (pure chocolate in the shape of sprinkles).
