TEL: (415) 655-5600

Located in the Western Addition, this Japanese restaurant and jazz club is an offshoot of the Oakland original, which hosted such celebrated musicians as Dizzy Gillespie and Branford Marsalis. The San Francisco outpost, opened in 2007, features a 28,000-square-foot music club and an adjacent dining room run by Iron Chef champion Shotaro “Sho” Kamio. Illuminated by paper lanterns, the restaurant offers plush booths, a sushi bar, a mezzanine lounge, and a tatami room (with traditional Japanese floor mats). In addition to fresh maki rolls, the seasonal menu may include miso-cured pork belly and robata grilled black cod (cooked over charcoal).
