Israel is probably best known as the home of ancient cities like Jerusalem and Nazareth, but it is Tel Aviv, one of its youngest and most vibrant cities, that deserves to be highlighted. Travel to Tel Aviv to take in the modern, somewhat European lifestyle in this Middle Eastern metropolis and explore its many gorgeous beaches, well-curated museums, classic Bauhaus architecture and exciting nightlife. Residents of “The White City” take great pride in their hometown’s modernity and are always excited to share its many sights and attractions with visitors, but be sure to prep with our Tel Aviv travel guide before taking in the best of this Mediterranean city.

Things Not to Miss in Tel Aviv

• Spend a day cooling off in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and basking on any one of the sandy beaches along Shlomo Lahat Promenade

When to Go to Tel Aviv

Like many Mediterranean cities, Tel Aviv experiences mild, somewhat wet winters and hot, humid summers where temperatures soar into the high 80s and low 90s. Accordingly, the best time to book Tel Aviv travel is between October and April when rainfall is likely, but not intolerable or at all extreme. At this time of year, sea temperatures are in the mid-60s to low 70s, making for refreshing swimming conditions on particularly hot days.
