Auberge D'Chez Eux
Presidents from across the globe, including Jacques Chirac, Bill Clinton, and Vladimir Putin, once dined at this traditional bistro in the Seventh Arrondissement, just a five-minute walk from Les Invalides. However, the restaurant also draws a large crowd of locals with its hearty fare and historic setting. Originally an 18th-century watering hole for travelers heading into Paris, the bistro remains largely unchanged today, with red and white checkered tablecloths, large windows, and original recipes. The menu features authentic country cooking, with specialties including cherry duck and stewed cassoulet, a white bean and meat casserole with confit of duck.
Portions are huge, so consider sharing if you want to sample sweets from the well-stocked dessert cart.
