5th Arrondissement (Latin Quarter)
Le Porte Pot
Located in the fifth arrondissement, known as the Latin Quarter, this wood-beamed bistro boasts a steel counter-topped bar and a wine cellar with 120 varietals. Items like Gourmet cheeses with walnut liquor, macerated crottin (a French goat cheese), tarts, and duck confit complement the affordable wines (offered at €6.5 by the glass). Le Porte Pot's private room, a.k.a "vault" resembles a cave with floor-to-ceiling stone and is dotted with candlelit tables. A popular combination is the Château Yvonne 2005 Samur Blanc with a roasted Iberian pork chop.
Insider Tip:
For a private affair, the entire restaurant is available for rent as is the intimate, cavern-esque room, which seats 25 or up to 35 people buffet-style.
