Located on a quiet block in the Latin Quarter, this funky lodge’s ultramodern flair is obvious the instant you enter the lobby: 3-D bubbles float across a video screen, and the lobby bar lights change color throughout the day. Futuristic touches extend to the 35 rooms, where bathtubs and beds—topped by first-rate linens—appear to be floating in midair, ceilings twinkle with “stars,” and blue and purple LED lights illuminate clear acrylic furniture. For something even more dramatic, there are seven themed suites, which range in style from a sleek space fit for 007 to a boudoir that would satisfy the likes of Marie Antoinette. But flash doesn’t trump comfort here: flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, free Wi-Fi, and espresso machines are de rigueur in each room.
