Located beside the old Paris Bourse, Café Moderne serves a reasonably priced menu of both classic and contemporary French cuisine to a largely local clientele, including lunchtime crowds of black-suited bankers. Contrasting with its Neoclassical neighbor, the narrow café is designed in a modern style with purple and black velour chairs, white-clothed tables, and rotating works by emerging local artists. An extensive, well-priced wine list complements seasonal dishes that may include ravioli escargot and fried oeufs mollet (soft-boiled eggs) served with spinach and bacon. The three-course prix fixe menu is also a popular option.
