Bermuda Tourism Authority
June 02, 2016

Uber is all about surprising its passengers—remember the time riders got a free slice of pizza?—and now the ride-sharing company has just upped the ante in a major way. The company partnered with Bermuda Tourism Authority and is sending New York riders on a free trip to Bermuda, but there’s a catch. Winners have to have their passport handy and be able to leave tomorrow.

In honor of welcoming in summers, and consequently summer Fridays, winners will enjoy complimentary round-trip air via private charter and accommodation for two at the newly revamped Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. And to make sure winners are ready for their trip to paradise, they will also get an AWAY luggage carry on (complete with built-in charging station), Stowaway products, and Malin+Goetz travel essentials.

“To kick off summer, the Bermuda Tourism Authority wanted to show busy New Yorkers just how easy it is to disappear to the island for Bermuda Summer Fridays," Victoria Isley, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Bermuda Tourism Authority told Travel + Leisure. "Uber was an obvious partner to help make that connection with savvy travelers—and Bermudian brand ambassadors were on hand in each Uber to personally share our hospitality to the lucky winners. Now they will see for themselves how a 90 minute non-stop flight from NYC transports them to island life out there in Bermuda."

How does it work? Riders need to just open their app anywhere in Manhattan, Williamsburg, or DUMBO today between 10 a.m. to noon, tap the menu on the left side, and tap the “Promotions” tab, entering the special code BERMUDA. A select few will be surprised with a trip to Bermuda. You’ll leave tomorrow June 3 and return on Sunday.
