Virgin America's Awesome New Sundries Bag + $100 Cross-Country Fares!
I already know that Virgin America is a favorite airline of our readers—it scored No. 1 in the domestic airline category of T+L’s 2009 World’s Best Awards—but I’m happy to report that Richard Branson’s company is continuing to impress with new deals and fun in-flight amenities.
Here's a selection of some of its latest low fares:
$109 one-way from San Francisco to Virgin’s newest destination, Ft. Lauderdale
$100 one-way from Los Angeles to Boston
$40 one-way from San Diego to San Francisco (cheaper than a tank of gas!)
In addition to the budget fares, the personal touch-screen entertainment systems (above), and live TV, Virgin just launched the “How Could I Forget” sundries bag ($10 in-flight). I love the Yes to Carrots products (shampoo, conditioner, even lip balm) but the best part—dare I say it—is the enclosed, impressively-durable plastic bag. Even a well-trained editor on-the-go sometimes forgets a few key items—or overstuffs the Ziploc she’s already carrying.
And if you’re traveling on Virgin America this holiday season, don’t forget your laptop: Google is subsidizing the cost of your in-flight Wi-Fi from December 10 – January 15, 2010. In a month when many airlines are increasing fares, Virgin’s recent announcement is a welcome surprise.
