Watch this video for four unexpected summer activities that keep you out of the summer heat.

1. Summer Camp for Adults

At Wisconsin’s Camp Wandawega, about 90 minutes from Chicago, “campers,” or adult travelers, can take dips in the cool, shallow lake between breezy naps on a hammock.  Another favorite spot for grown ups is Camp Grounded, north of San Francisco in the shade of towering Redwoods, where there’s rock climbing and sign-alongs—and no cell phones allowed.

2. Misty Moments at Philip Johnson’s Glass House

This summer, you can explore Philip Johnson’s landmark glass house in New Canaan, Connecticut on a new self-guided site tour, but what you’ll write home about is the Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya’s veil exhibit. 3. New Texas Art Pavilion

Texas temperatures regularly soar above 95 degrees in August, but the new Renzo Piano pavilion at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas is a showstopper that’ll get you out of the searing air. Light pours in from the glass ceiling, but interior galleries are chilly: the strict rule is 72 degrees, 50% humidity.

4. Glamping in Montana and Utah

A summertime trip to Montana and southern Utah doesn’t mean roughing it under the hot sun. A night or two at Montana’s new Kestral Camp puts you in an immaculate yurt near the Missouri River. Lucky travelers who pick Moab Under Canvas unpack in canvas tents that open onto shaded outdoor decks—perfect with an iced tea. Now, that’s what we call glamping, or glamorous camping.
