Beauty Road Test: Tom’s of Maine Fresh Mint Whitening Toothpaste

Are the latest beauty and wellness products worthy of a spot in your teensy carry-on? T+L Associate Editor Kathryn O’Shea-Evans shares her take.

The Product: Tom’s of Maine Fresh Mint Whitening Toothpaste; $2.99

Pros: Tom’s of Maine just released a 3.0 ounce (travel size!) tube of their whitening toothpaste. I love that it’s "natural" (no artificial ingredients, preservatives, or sweeteners) yet still tastes as fresh as a mouthfull of Altoids. Another perk: 10% of profits go to a variety of environmental and educational charities.

Cons: I didn’t notice any immediate whitening, but that’s something that takes time. Just like stain-making.

Verdict: Packable.
