A Global Focus for New San Francisco Gallery

By-appointment gallery now featuring Belgian artist Nick Ervink
What can you do with a Pacific Heights Beaux-Arts-style rowhouse? How about turning it into a cool, by-appointment concept and gallery shop. That’s what local San Francisco couple Amir and Emmanuelle Mortazavi have done with Highlight, which opened its second location in Downtown San Francisco this past June featuring emerging and mid-carreer artists from the U.S. and abroad.
Each year, the by-appointment store (also online) will focus on a different country and sell art and furniture from that part of the world. This year’s country? Belgium, so look for collectible antiques, rate Tintin editions, and works by big name contemporary designers—Maarten de Ceulaer, Bram Boo, more.
