Getting to Cancún from Cancún International Airport
Most major rental-car companies have stalls in the airport; reserve before leaving home for the best rates. Travelers can (and should) book authorized taxi, shuttle or private car service to Cancún or the Riviera maya on the airport Web site (www.cancun-airport.com/transportation.htm). Shared shuttles cost $9 to Cancún (30-45 minutes), $23-$35 to the Riviera Maya (one to two hours). Taxis to Cancún take about 30 minutes and cost $45-$50; private service for larger groups costs $50-$55.
