Bicycles in Berlin
A Berliner without a bicycle is like a Los Angeleno without a car, so by all means rent a two-wheeler if you're here for more than a few days. As well as giving you access to the city's hidden treasures, it's usually the fastest way to get around here. Bike rentals are available all over the city; a reliable outlet with branches around the city is Fahrradstation (www.fahrradstation.de-website only in German). Rental prices average around 50 euros a week. Bikes are frequently stolen from Berlin streets, so lock up well, and keep in mind that only the red-bricked portion of the sidewalk is the bike path.
