Taxis in Berlin

Berlin is also one of the few places in Germany where taxis can be hailed on the street-but it's always a safer bet to go to a taxi stand, which are found in front of major hotels and main train stations. If you do hail and don't have far to go (1.5 miles or less) ask the driver for a Kurzstrecke ("short trip") fare, for only 3 euros. Be forewarned: most taxi drivers don't speak English.
