City trains around Berlin

Once a horror that quite often literally hit a (well, the) wall, Berlin's public transport system is now nearly completely patched together. The S-Bahn (commuter) and U-Bahn (subway) trains network their way around the entire city; tickets, which cost less than 3 euros per trip, can be purchased per ride, day, week or month from vending machines on platforms (note: they must be validated in the small red boxes on the platform prior to boarding).
