When to visit Madrid
There is no completely "awful" time to visit Madrid, though most will tell you August is surely the month to avoid - not just because the city's temperature can hover in the low 100s Fahrenheit for days and nights on end, and pools are scarce, but because the city's residents all flee for the coasts. Madrid without her people is a sad city indeed. The loveliest times of year are Spring and Fall - Spring because the city streets are all in bloom, and fall because the weather stays warm until November. But even winter in Madrid has its charm, and early summer can be loads of fun, as the temperature begins to rise the nights heat up and the city residents swarm the streets in force.
