Taxis were once about as common as suntans in Dublin, but things have changed for the better. There are taxi stands on St. Stephen’s Green, O’Connell Street, and College Green, as well as outside major hotels. Taxis can also be hailed on the street. The base fare is about $5.60, which includes the first kilometer of travel, with an additional charge for every kilometer after that.
