Taxis in Sydney

Taxicabs can be hailed on the street throughout the city (as well as summoned by your hotel concierge). They’re usually driven at breakneck speed, and by drivers who may or may not know the way to your destination (be sure to ask before you get in). Rates are metered, and start at $3 with another $1.80 added per kilometer (note that these rates climb another 20 percent after 10 p.m.).
