Taxis in San Juan

To get to outlying neighborhoods, catch a taxi from the front of any hotel, or from the stand at the southeastern edge of Old Town, diagonally across from the Chateau Cervantes. Drivers usually speak fairly good English, and fares from one neighborhood to another average around $10-$15. If you’re going further afield—say, to Fajardo or Rincón—you’ll need to rent a car. Hertz and Avis both have outposts at the airport.
