Getting to Nantucket by ferry

Passenger-only and car ferries travel several times daily between Nantucket Town and Hyannis, on mainland Cape Cod. The Steamship Authority (www.steamshipauthority.com) runs boats that arrive and depart from Steamship Wharf in Nantucket Town; Hy-Line Cruises (www.hy-linecruises.com) runs boats to and from Straight Wharf. Traditional ferries make the trip in about two hours—but both companies also offer fast ferries that take just over an hour.
