Getting around Montreal
The Montreal Metro system is supremely convenient and easy to use (see www.stm.info for maps and details), but taxis are also plentiful and inexpensive. The central city is also very pedestrian friendly and compact, and many neighborhoods (Vieux-Montréal, the Plateau) are best explored on foot. Driving throughout the city is also painless, though parking can be a problem due to strict time limits at meters.
