Skyways in Minneapolis/St. Paul
For the uninitiated, skyways are blissful winter saviors—climate-controlled glass walkways connecting buildings in both downtowns. Downtown Minneapolis has an eight-mile system linking almost 80 blocks, the largest in the world, while downtown St. Paul has a five-mile system. It’s easy to get lost, so don’t be afraid to ask for directions or download skyway maps ahead of time (www.minneapolis.org/page/area-maps-minneapolis.jsp; www.stpaul.gov/index.asp?NID=1549).
