When to go to Maine
The most popular time to visit is from late-May to early-September, when temps are in the 70s and 80s (but evenings can be cool). During “the season,” countless seafood shacks, summer inns, and tourist attractions fling open their doors for Vacationland travelers. October is best for fall foliage, and January and February, the snowiest months, are best for skiing. Spring in Maine is almost nonexistent, bringing temperamental weather and mud (it’s even been known to snow in May).
