Getting to London by air

Most flights land at Heathrow, which is west of central London; it’s a 45-minute tube ride to Leicester Square on the Piccadilly line, or 15-20 minutes on the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station ($30 one way; www.heathrowexpress.com). The Gatwick Express train conveys you from Gatwick Airport 45 minutes north into Victoria Station ($30 one way; www.gatwickexpress.com). Stansted Express travels from less convenient Stansted Airport 45 minutes southeast to Liverpool Street ($30 one way, www.stanstedexpress.com). And Luton Airport is at least an hour by car north of central London.
