Getting to Jamaica by air

Jamaica is served by two international airports. Norman Manley International serves Kingston, and Sangster International is on the outskirts of Montego Bay. Air Jamaica and several U.S. carriers offer direct flights from major American cities (including New York, Washington/Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles). Most hotels and resorts arrange incoming and outgoing airport ground transfers, which can range from about $5 to about $50, depending on how far you’re going. If you need to arrange your own airport transport, an official licensed taxi (with a red “PPV” license plate) is your best bet, available from the taxi offices at both airports. Rates are normally fixed according to your destination, so be sure to agree on a price before departing.
